The modern water industry operates sophisticated and costly water and wastewater networks and sewage treatment plants.

The company was formed in 2002, with many key challenges ahead serving 2.2 million customers and 130,000 business customers. Owning assets across thousands of kilometres of water pipes, Water Treatment and Waste Water treatment sites.

Client's Objectives were to improve asset efficiency, manage leaks and improve water quality.

Large volumes of data was processed via Smart Meters on an hourly basis and transformed from its technical form to a basic business terminology and loaded into a Star Schema data mart that served 300 users over a wide area network. The method of delivering reports was Web Intranet/Extranet Portal. This enabled mobile users to access data on demand. The same reports were published over the Internet for business customers who wished to manage their water consumption and quality efficiency.
